Office moves, floor changes and old machines taken away
Moving Offices on the Gold Coast? Photocopier Relocation & Removal
A floor standing copier can weigh well over a hundred kilos, and the heavy part is not the dangerous one. The scanner carriage, the drums and a tray of loose toner are what get damaged when a machine is moved like furniture. Photocopier relocation on the Gold Coast is usually tied to a date, a lease that ends or a fit out that finishes, and the job is not done until print, copy and scan all work from the new desks.

Photocopier relocation and removal across the Gold Coast
Photocopier relocation Gold Coast offices plan around a date
Almost nobody moves a copier for its own sake. The machine goes because the office is going: a lease ends on the last day of the month, a new floor opens at Southport, a practice finishes a fit out at Robina, an agent takes the shop next door at Burleigh. The date is fixed, so the copier has to be working on the first morning, and staff will notice within minutes if it is not.
That is why we ask for the date before anything else. Then the make and model, the address at each end, which floor, and who will be on site. After that, the questions get specific: is there a lift or stairs, where does the machine come out, where does it go, and what does it have to do on the first morning.

A price in three steps
- Tell us about the machineThe make, the model and what it keeps doing.
- We ring with a priceYou have it before any visit is booked.
- A certified technician comes to youSame day when the diary has room.
The things a removalist will not know
A professional furniture mover is good at furniture. A copier looks like furniture and is not. Four things go wrong.
- The scanner carriage. It is held by a transit lock that has to be set before the machine is shifted. If it is not, a bump in a lift can jolt the optics out of alignment, and the first copies at the new office have a stripe nobody can explain.
- Toner and waste containers. Loose toner finds its way into the mechanism if a machine is tilted, and it is very hard to get out again.
- The drum. It is a coated cylinder that reacts to light. Left in a bright room with the panel open, or marked by a fingerprint, it is spoiled. Gold Coast offices are mostly glass, so the risk is real.
- Trays, finishers and accessories. These come off and go on the truck separately, and the one that goes missing is always the one the office needs first.
The day itself
We arrive at the booked time, check the machine against the notes you gave us and prepare it for the move. The carriage is locked, trays and toner are dealt with and the machine is protected for the journey.
At the new premises it is positioned, levelled and connected. Then comes the test, which is the part people forget to ask about. Print, copy and scan are tried from the desks that will use the machine, not just from the panel. If the address plan changed, or the new floor needs a different route to the network, that is sorted on the spot.
We would rather finish properly than leave a machine that almost works.
Getting the network ready first
Most of the delays on a move day are not mechanical. They are about the network. The copier had a fixed address on the old network, the new office uses different ranges, nobody wrote down the scan to email settings and the person who set them up left two years ago.
Ask your IT provider for the new addresses before the move, and give them our contact. We work with them on addresses, scan destinations and the settings that make a machine behave. Where an office has no IT provider, tell us, and we plan extra time.

Office printer relocation on the Gold Coast
People assume that moving an office printer is easier than moving a copier. In weight, it is. In everything else it is the same job. The drum and the toner need the same care, the trays go missing just as easily, and the printer that was set up with a fixed address on the old network will not find its place on the new one without help.
If you want to relocate an office printer between floors or buildings, tell us the make and the model, how many are moving and where each is going. We group them into one visit where we can, and we plan the order so the machines that staff need first are working first.
Wide format plotters are another matter
A plotter has ink, a printhead and a long carriage that must be locked, and the paper roll and the stand go separately. The preparation is different from a copier and the cost of getting it wrong is higher. Tell us the make and we say how we plan it.
Move a photocopier within an office, or from one office to another
A move inside one building looks harmless and is where we see more damage than anywhere else. A refit, a new layout, a copier room that becomes a storage room. Somebody wheels the machine across the floor on its castors, jolts it over a cable cover and a scanner unit is knocked out of line.
If you plan to move a photocopier office Gold Coast staff share between floors, it is worth a phone call first. The preparation is the same as for a longer trip and the visit is shorter.
Building rules and lift bookings
Some buildings need a lift booked or a loading dock slot, and some have a manager who wants notice. We ask about this before the day so the technicians start at the machine, not at the front door. Tell us who the building manager is and any rules you know of, and we plan around them. If you are not sure, find out. A ten minute call to building management a week ahead is cheaper than a morning waiting in a car park.

Photocopier removal on the Gold Coast
Not every copier makes the move. Some are due for replacement, and the new office has a newer machine waiting. We can remove the old one, wipe the hard drive, and deal with the machine responsibly. If it still has value, we can talk about taking it off your hands, and our page on selling a used photocopier covers that.
One caution before you book. If the machine is leased, read the agreement first. The lessor may need to collect it, or may have to give their consent before anyone else takes it away.
Between suburbs, and in from outside
Southport to Robina. Bundall to Varsity Lakes. Burleigh Heads to Helensvale. Those are everyday moves for us, and so are machines going into or out of the Coast, such as a business arriving from further north or from interstate, and an office relocating over the border at Tweed Heads. If the new premises are a long way off, tell us early so we can plan the day.
Moving machines that are still working hard
Some offices cannot stand to be without a copier for a day. A practice with patients booked, a firm with a filing deadline, a school office in the last week of term. For those, we plan the move so the machine is out of action for as short a time as the job allows, and we tell you at the start how long that is likely to be, based on the building and the distance.
Where a second machine is available at either end, it can cover the gap. Where it is not, the sequence matters: we leave the copier until the last practical moment on the old side, and it is first through the door at the new one.
After the move
A relocated machine gets a service check so it starts fresh in its new home. Later, our service team keeps it running. If the new office needs a second copier, we also sell machines, and the sales page lists what is available. If you would prefer not to own one at all, see the page on photocopier hire and rental.
Phone (07) 3096 0331 or use the contact form for a relocation or removal price. We talk through the job and agree the price on the phone before anyone is booked, with nothing locked in.
Behind the side panel
Light is the enemy of a drum
The drum is the part nobody sees and the part that matters most. It is a coated cylinder that reacts to light, so a technician who props the panel open beside a bright window is quietly spoiling it. Gold Coast offices are mostly glass and sunshine, which makes covering the drum a habit worth having.
We send people who wrap it, work quickly and put it back as the maker intended. If a mark repeats down your pages at the same spacing, describe it on the phone. That spacing is a clue.

- Covered at all times. The drum goes in a light proof sleeve the moment it leaves the machine.
- Marks read properly. The distance between repeating marks points to the roller or drum at fault.
- No fingerprints. Gloves on, every time.

Common questions from Gold Coast offices
How much notice do you need for a photocopier relocation?
As much as you can give. Phone as soon as you have a date, and tell us about any lift bookings, because buildings with a lift to reserve need the longest lead.
Will the copier work as soon as the office opens?
That is the aim and we plan towards it. We reconnect the machine to your network and test print, copy and scan from the desks that will use it before we leave.
Why not move the copier with the rest of the furniture?
The scanner carriage needs locking, toner and waste containers need dealing with and drums are light sensitive. A damaged machine costs more than a professional move.
Can you remove an old copier and dispose of it?
Yes. We wipe the drive, take the machine and deal with it responsibly, or talk about buying it if it still has value.
Do you handle office printer relocation as well as copiers?
Yes. We move workgroup printers, copiers and plotters, and we reconnect each one to the new network and test it.
Can you relocate a whole floor of machines?
Yes. Tell us how many, which makes and where each goes. We plan the order of work and group the machines into one visit where we can.
What should my IT provider know before the move?
The make and model, the addresses the machine needs, the scan to email and scan to folder settings, and who to contact on the day. We work with them directly.
Can you move a copier from one floor of our building to another?
Yes. It is the same preparation as a longer move and the visit is shorter. It is also the move people most often try themselves, and where scanner units get jolted.
Does a leased copier need anyone's permission to move?
Often it does. Check the lease first, because the lessor may need to give consent or arrange collection.

Old machine, new question
Repair it or replace it?
We repair, and we also buy and sell machines, so we can talk about both honestly. Ring and we will go through it.
